hellopeacegoodbyewar ::: Favorites UN-AU peacekeeping force= necessary to halt the Darfur conflict. Clinton= right bout including AU in there & Richardson explicitly saying "No AU troops" is deplorable- they've [AU] been through the whole process & Africa needs 2 be able 2 exercise its abilities 2 help itself w/o Western politicians excluding them bc they deem the AU incapable of success. Yes, the current force of 7500 AU troops is inadequate, but they can't be successful when they aren't permitted a mandate to use force. 07-07-25 17:46:43 _____________________________________________________
hellopeacegoodbyewar ::: Favorites And Biden, I hope he meant 2500 American ground troops + other forces- 2 have SOLELY US forces in there to 'fix' up a 'problem of Africa's' teeters too close to another act of Western hegemony. Yes, America has the responsibility to act robustly and get protective forces in there, but the approach needs to be holistic. I'm glad Richardson and Clinton brought up the possible criticisms of a no-fly zone- at least they're considering many options. 07-07-25 17:49:05 _____________________________________________________
kvpatel007 ::: Favorites That is some BS, if you invite someone to the debate, they should ALL get time. 07-07-26 13:44:53 _____________________________________________________
dominiquemc06 ::: Favorites Yes I agree completely. Africa does not "NEED" America. the AU's involvement will help to both stabalize the situation and to loosen Africa's reliance on Western aid. 07-07-27 02:51:29 _____________________________________________________
yesterlove ::: Favorites One thing is clear concerning this horrible crime of genocide thats happening in Darfur, if senator Clinton or Gov Richardson are elected president the people of darfur are as good as dead. Hillary,talks about it takes a village to raise a child, what does it take to raise the dead; Hillary? because thats how all the children of Darfur is going to be soon.. DEAD !!! 07-07-29 14:08:06 _____________________________________________________
yesterlove ::: Favorites Biden,is the only one there who really cares about the lives of those people there in Darfur...And hes right on !!! 07-07-29 14:18:33 _____________________________________________________
Raisinjeff ::: Favorites Hillary had to be asked twice by Anderson whether she would put U.S. troops on the ground in Darfur. I'm not going to vote for someone if they avoid answering questions - especially important ones like this. Hillary should not be president. 07-07-29 22:52:25 _____________________________________________________
frnesbit ::: Favorites I like Biden! 07-07-29 23:02:51 _____________________________________________________
thejobloshow ::: Favorites Hillary won't do anything for Dafur, if you put in those sanctions those villagers will feel the brunt of it, you need ground troops. 07-07-30 21:19:34 _____________________________________________________
kcgirlgeek ::: Favorites I have to say senator Biden's response to this impressed me most. However, Senator Clinton's response was the most knowledgeable and educated about the issues that are really a part of this. Her response was the most honest with the American people about how and what we can do, in my opinion. 07-08-01 19:25:31 _____________________________________________________ |
