Description:

Part Two! This song is the opera from FFVI/FIII, preformed for the first and I think only time in English. It translates to "Air of Half Character" from Italian. It's number twelve on the album "More Friends Music From FINAL FANTASY ~Final Fantasy Orchestra Concert in Los Angeles 2005~" (yes, I know what a long name that is -- it's actually the whole name, though), performed in the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles by the World Festival Symphony Orchestra, featuring Stephanie Woodling as Maria, Chad Berlinghieri as Draco, and Todd Robinson as Ralse. I decided to add a slideshow with it because it's more fun to watch that way! The song is 12:27 long so did have to divide it into two parts, but it breaks at a silent section, so you're not missing too much. : ) The lyrics used are from the GameBoy Advanced Version, different from the original SNES version. I retyped them just by listening, and I know got some wrong. In these instances the lyrics are {surrounded by those funny looking curly things}. Corrections are not only accepted, but appreciated and welcomed with open arms. One last note: In the very first singing part I'm almost sure that's Draco, but it could be Ralse. Here are your lyrics, typed and punctuated as accurately as possible: - [Instrumental] Draco: Oh, Maria, Oh, Maria. Though I call you from afar Will this message reach your heart? Oh, how I long to be with you.... [Instrumental] Maria: Oh my hero, My beloved, Shall we still be made to part? For promises aren't {For any above} Yet sing here in my heart. I'm the darkness, You're the starlight Shining brightly from afar. Through arms of despair I offer this prayer To you, my evening star. Must my final Vows exchanged Be with him and not with you? Were you only here To quiet my fear.... Oh, speak, guide me anew! [Instrumental] Draco: Maria! Maria: Draco! I knew you would return to me my love! Ralse: {Excellent road!} Made by the Western Hold! I would address my queen to be Maria! Draco: Never shall You have Maria's hand! I would die Before that day comes! Ralse: Then we duel! [Instrumental] Ralse: Why this day is yours, Draco! Curse you should you let Maria go! Draco: Peace then, for you'll have my word: With me she'll know nothing {of me} Ralse: Maria! Maria! I love you so! Draco & Ralse: Maria! Maria! Return to me! [Short Instrumental] Maria: I am thankful, My beloved, For your tenderness and grace. I see in your eyes, So gentle and wise, All doubts and fears erased. Though the hours Take no notice Of what fate might have in store.... Draco & Maria: ...Our love come what may, Will never age a day. I'll wait forevermore! I'll wait Forevermore! - Now for links: Information from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Final_Fantasy_VI#Aria_di_Mezzo_Carattere -- Wikipedia article on this song. ^^ Screencaps from: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8672554679665368020 -- the FFXI portrayal! http://youtube.com/watch?v=uVH96AwZMkM -- the FFVI FMVs from the PS version.
