Description: Believe it or not, almost all vhs tapes made before the late 90's had this. If you were curious enough (Like myself) to watch a videotape beyond the credits, you would run into this after the closing logo. It's a glaring white screen accompanied by a demonic endless beep. |

AllisonSNLKid ::: Favorites 2006-12-05 00:01:25 It's trying to draw you in - it's like that "phone dialing" sound when the video starts - this was common on videos that came out before the mid 1990s. I worked at a video store, and said, "I wonder who they're calling." Apparently my co-worker felt the same way - she completely agreed! __________________________________________________
NYGuy322 ::: Favorites 2006-12-22 22:54:34 Ya know, I *always* wondered about that "phone dialing" sound too...I would always think "Did they accidentally record a phone conversation over this tape or something?" __________________________________________________
theperfectone121212 ::: Favorites 2006-12-30 01:16:58 I have this at the end of my jackie chan tape,it's so freaky. __________________________________________________
Nic33rd ::: Favorites 2007-01-13 20:43:12 Kinda makes me think of a techno song. __________________________________________________
Sammyt3hSnake ::: Favorites 2007-01-13 20:44:59 It's because of the little 'breaks' in the sound.I can't help that. The real version didn't have 'em. __________________________________________________
Nic33rd ::: Favorites 2007-01-14 03:23:35 Oh, I'm not complaining! I'm just saying. __________________________________________________
AaCo ::: Favorites 2007-02-02 13:57:08 Not all video tapes had this at the end. Some had static, some had a black screen accompanied by a weird noise, and some had multicolored test patterns, all of which freaked me out and gave me nightmares as a little kid. __________________________________________________
Sammyt3hSnake ::: Favorites 2007-02-02 14:10:17 I think the Black Screen one was the one with the phone-dialing noise. I watched one tape that had a black scree, red "clock" numbers, AND a phone-dialing sound. __________________________________________________

rtrock ::: Favorites 2007-02-14 23:35:53 My brother always made a mad dash and would practically kill me to turn off tapes before it made this sound. When he was real little it used to bother him to the point of horror. __________________________________________________
VoltzCartoons ::: Favorites 2007-03-19 18:58:42 I remember this on my Bobby's world vhs tapes. It gave me nightmares of floating in a white (zone) with this noise going on and eventually something would attack me, but if I scr __________________________________________________
VoltzCartoons ::: Favorites 2007-03-20 18:19:53 sorry, my last comment didn't fit, so forget what i was saying. Sammy, are you sure you saw one with a black screen and clock numbers? What do you mean by clock numbers? That I would like to see! Try to upload it. Are you talking about the test pattern with a little timer in the bottom corner of it? That I recall was on blank tapes replacing static. __________________________________________________
VoltzCartoons ::: Favorites 2007-03-20 18:21:34 Oh, and what causes this white screen and beeps to appear after the tape ends? Sorry, I hate bumping posts. __________________________________________________
Sammyt3hSnake ::: Favorites 2007-03-20 21:04:45 It could have been. I'll show you. __________________________________________________
Sammyt3hSnake ::: Favorites 2007-03-20 21:05:05 I have no idea. I guess to assure the viewer that the video was REALLY OVER. __________________________________________________ |
