How did Pedro get jeered when he returned to Boston? He got a 3 minute long standing ovation with repeated curtain calls in game 1 of the series followed by a video montage before the game he started that left (some) fans in tears? That doesn't sound like jeering to me, it sounds like respect

I was at this game cheering my ass off for my childhood hero Frank Thomas. That was an amazing game..Frank had two home runs and we won on a walk-off bunt by Pablo Ozuna.

Frank Thomas, still one of the games most feared hitters! He and Griffey are two of my All-Time favs, they'll take you back to the mid 90's if you let them :)

Don't forget the walk-off bunt to win it in extra innings, or the "squirrel chase." Two things you don't see very often! Great game.

I was at this game, took a road trip just to see the Big Hurt's return. The ball dropped in my friends hand sitting directly to my right, dropped is the key word. I was like a dear in headlights...I could believe it came right at us. I got an awesome picture of the swing though. Then just a few minutes later we saw a huge, nasty cat fight at the nacho stand. What a game!

Such an amazing guy! I was able to spend a lot of time with him and the other players of the Oakland A's this weekend. Thanks for posting this video of him!

Damn, you Chicago people treat him with a lot of respect. Unlike how Pedro got jeered when he returned to Boston. Either way I still respect the guy, and I'm a Braves/Tigers fan.

Years ago, Harold Baines got the same sort of reaction when he returned to Chicago the first time after being traded to the Rangers (by the way, Baines also homered in his first at-bat). Several years later, Robin Ventura got a big homecoming welcome after being traded. Chicago White Sox fans do not boo the ex-players we loved. FT worked hard for us for 15 years and was a part of our first world championship in almost 9 decades. We all look forward to his next stop: Cooperstown :)
