Description:

A short video in two acts that asks the question "How can God forgive someone who has done what I've done?" The video was used to introduce the sermon topic on how God forgives, no matter what a person's past. It is the second in a series of videos being made for my church in Florida. The "Holy Cross Producers" is a group of youth in the church and are the actors. The production company, firstfruits communications, is my company. We will be producing around six of these per year.

God didn't give us law so he can punish us when we mess up. We live in a fallen world and he has spelled out the way to have the best life possible, but also sent his son, Jesus, to earn forgiveness for us, because we can't earn it for ourselves. The best thing to do is ask God to make your faith stronger. He wants you to have the best life possible, which includes believing that he loves you and that no matter how much you mess up, Jesus already paid for your forgiveness.

I am a born again Christian and I am guilty of a lot of stuff...no matter how hard I try I keep messing up and then I am usually afraid god won't forgive me so I go farther and farther away from him...what should I do? Some of my friends say I should talk to people who are christians and to form a supposrt group...they said they would but they don't believe in God...at least they tried to help...can you help at all? Anyone?

1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." He is talking to believers here. If we confess, he will clean us all over again. And, if it is something criminal, and God leads you to confess to the authorities, then that is the right thing to do. Either way, God will forgive you if you confess to Him. That's the way He is.

Have you ever did something that is like worst than what your old nature was even after being born again??

Being born again by no means makes you perfect. Jesus told Peter to forgive his brother "seventy times seven" times, if necessary. God will forgive much more than even that. I am guilty of the same things that you speak about. But by God's grace, we are forgiven. The idea that we have to be perfect after we are born-again is a lie spoken only to discourage us.

Fearing people; Worrying; Saying stupid things causing ppl to hate me; hate; pride; and a couple other personal things.. the thing is: im born again =O. I understand when you first repent; your forgiven. will I be forgiven even though Im christian and did things unspeakable?

You're right, no one is perfect. But if, as you say, God is imaginary, why even bother to "be good and have morals?" Why go to all the trouble to "act self responsible" if there's no one to be responsible to? The point of this video was to introduce the idea of God's desire to forgive, even if we haven't been perfect. The forgiven life is the best life, no matter how much you don't agree.

This sort of predictable drivel is one of the many reasons why humanity should move past organised religion. People can be good and have morals without the need for an imaginary superbeing. In fact, it takes greater strength to act self responsible. No one is perfect, it doesnt mean your evil.
